Mode Of Action: Natamycin in Natak Eye Drops is a tetraene polyene antibiotic derived from Streptomyces natalensis and lies in the broad-spectrum activity , with low toxicity against mammalian cells. Natamycin is used to treat fungal keratitis, filamentous fungi and yeast-like fungi causing corneal infections. The antifungal activities of natamycin in act by binding to cell membrane sterols, primarily ergosterol, the principal sterol in fungal membranes, thereby making them leaky the essential constiuents of the membrane resulting in cell death. The polyenes form complexes with sterols and apparently disrupt membrane function by this mechanism.

Filamentous fungi and yeast-like fungi causing corneal infections, Fungal Blepheratis, Conjunctivitis and keratitis by susceptible strains of Candida, Aspergillus, Cephalosporium, Fusarium and Penicilliu.

Instill a Drop of Natak Eye Drops into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) after every 4 hours daily for 2-3 weeks or as directed by the Eye Doctor.

Eye pain, redness, irritation or swelling, sensation of foreign particle in the eye, change in vision, corneal scar and hyperemia. Hypersensitivity towards any component of the ophthalmic solution. Warnings & Precautions:

1. Avoidance of Contact Lens Wear
2. Keep the progress of the condition timely checked and inform the doctor in case of no improvement.
3. Avoid driving after instillation of the eye drops as it causes blurred vision.
4. Wear sunglasses in case of photophobia.
