MONOFER-XT SYRUP contains FERROUS ASCORBATE AND FOLIC ACID as its active ingredients used to treat the deficiency of iron, folic acid & zinc in the body. This unique composition have excellent absorption with no GI disorder and iron toxicity. FERROUS ASCORBATE- FERROUS ASCORBATE in MONOFER-XT SOFT GEL is a iron supplement which is used to treat or prevent iron deficiency. When FERROUS ASCORBATE administered is converted to ferric form and immediately reduced to ferrous form in stomach without any dissociation in GI tract due to stable chelate of iron with ascorbate then transferred to the duodenum where it is highly absorbed. FERROUS ASCORBATE fulfill the requirement of body because the  advantage of providing both ferrous ion and ascorbate in the same compound. FOLIC ACID- FOLIC ACID is a water soluble B-complex vitamin that stimulates the hematopoietic system and used in the treatment and prevention of folate deficiencies. FOLIC ACID transported across cells by receptor-mediated endocytosis where  they  maintain normal erythropoiesis, synthesize purine & thymidylate nucleic acids, interconvert amino acids and  methylate tRNA along with the ability to normalize high homocysteine levels by remethylation of homocysteine to methionine via methionine synthetase.

CHILDREN- 3-6 mg/kg/day in 2-3 divided dose or as directed by physician.
