PREDNISOLONE as active ingredient of PCORT TABLET is a steroidal synthetic anti inflammatory or immunosuppressive medication belongs to the class of glucocorticoid with the general properties of corticosteroid, glucocorticoids are the adrenocortical steroid  used for the treatment of inflammed areas of body, autoimmune disorders and allergies as well as modifies immune response to varies stimuli. Prednisolone have mechanism of action as corticosteroid hormone receptor agonist with high affinity of protein binding. PREDNISOLONE also reduces the inflammation reaction by limiting capillary dilation and permeability of the vascular structure which helps to inhibit the accumulation of polymorphonuclear leukocytes and macrophages at the site of inflammation along with the recent researchers suggestion that it may inhibit the release of arachidonic acid from phospholipids which reduces the formation of prostaglandins.

ADULTS-  Initially 20-40mg daily upto 80mg daily reduces to 5-20mg daily. CHILDREN AND ELDERLY- As prescribed by doctor according to disease. Or as prescribed by your eye doctor.
