METAGYL-O SUSPENSION is formulated with OFLOXACIN & METRONIDAZOLE active ingredients a combination of fluoroquinolone antibiotic and nitroimidazole antibiotic effective against bacterial infections as well as parasitic infections. This combination functions by killing or inhibiting the infection causing microorganism. OFLOXACIN functions by binds itself with the enzyme called DNA gyrase which allows the untwisting of DNA double helix. This mechanism prevents the supercoiling of DNA in the process of transcription that further inhibits the normal bacterial cell division. OFLOXACIN also have anti-leprotic activity. METRONIDAZOLE is a prodrug that’s why first it converts into its active forms and then functions by inhibiting the nucleic acid synthesis by disrupting the DNA of microbial cells which results in bacterial cell death.

METAGYL-O SUSPENSION is indicated to use in the following conditions-

• Abdominal Pain
• Diarrhea
• Parasitic & Fungal Infection
• Urinary Tract Infection
• Respiratory infection
• Hansen’s Disease

CHILDREN (UNDER 8 YEARS OLD)- Give 5-10ml twice a day or as directed by physician.

Patient should take precautions if they have history of liver or kidney disease, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Also by prolong use of antibiotic may cause secondary infections as well as create resistance of that combination. ADVERSE EFFECTS-
