LON FORTE eye drop contains Flurometholone as active agent, an anti-inflammatory steroid medicine belongs to glucocorticoids agonist. Flurometholone is a synthetic glucocorticoids and sterile ophthalmic solution used in the treatment of steroid responsive conditions such as palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva, cornea, and anterior segment of the eye and as per literary data LON FORTE eye drop also effective in severe dry eyes. There is no accepted explanation about mechanism of action of LON FORTE eye drop. However, LON FORTE functions by controlling the synthesis of prostaglandins release ( which cause inflammation) by induction of phospho lipase A2 inhibitory proteins. LON FORTE inhibits prostaglandins and interleukins by inhibiting their common precursor i.e. arachidonic acid which released from phospho lipase A2. LON FORTE also suppress the migration of polymorph nuclear leukocytes and reversal of increased capillary permeability which reduces inflammation.

LON FORTE is indicated to use in-

• inflammation of eyes due to injury
• swelling and itching
• ocular trauma
• redness and irritation
• conjunctivitis
• post surgery

ADULT, CHILDREN ABOVE 2 YEARS AND ELDERLY PEOPLE- Instill 1-2 drops 3-4 times a day and when gives relieve instill 1-2 drops 2-3 times a day. Or as directed by your eye doctor.

Warning for patients Prolonged use of Flurometholone may increase intraocular pressure which further cause damage to eyes. Precautions– Before using Flurometholone tell your doctor about medical history, allergies and fungal infections. ADVERSE EFFECTS-

• increased sensitivity to light, or
• temporary blurr vision.
