Levofloxacin Hemihydrate Eq. to Levofloxacin I.P. 0.5% w/v
Pharmacology
Mode Of Action:
Levotak Levofloxacin Eye Drops is a broad-spectrum antibiotic having activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It functions by inhibiting the two type II topoisomerase enzymes, DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. Topoisomerase IV is responsible for DNA separation and duplication whereas DNA gyrase, is responsible for joining new DNA Strands. Restriction to both the mechanisms results in killing the bacteria.
