Class: Immuno-Modulator and Anti-Allergic Pharmacology:   Acrotak Eye Ointment contains 0.03% Tacrolimus also known as FK 506 is a macrolide derivative with anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory activity. Tacrolimus is produced by the fungus Streptomyces tsukubaenis can suppress the T cell activation and interleukin-2 production by binding to an immunophilin and inhibiting the enzymatic activity of calcineurin. This inactivation of Calcineurin suppresses formation of T helper 1 (Th1) (interleukin (IL)-2, interferon γ) and Th2 cytokines (IL-4, IL-5).Tacrolimus has also been reported to inhibit histamine release from mast cells and is thought to alleviate allergic symptoms through these mechanisms. Severe atopic blepharoconjunctivitis, intractable allergic conjunctivitis, giant papillary conjunctivitis, Corneal Graft rejection, Vernal Keratoconjunctivitis (VKC) and Atopic Keratoconjunctivitis (AKC)

Apply Acrotak Eye Ointment 0.03% twice daily for 4 weeks or as Directed by the Specialist Gently pull down your lower eyelid and look up. Hold the tube above the eye and gently squeeze a 1cm line of ointment along the inside of the lower eyelid, taking care not to touch the eye or eyelashes with the tip of the tube. Blink your eyes to spread the ointment over the surface of the eyeball.

Warning & Precautions: Contraindicated in Sun Light (UV) Exposure, Grapefruit Juice Consumption, Allergic Reaction, red eye and tearing. Adverse Effects: Transient foreign body sensation, Transient burning in the eyes, blurring of vision, corneal infections, atopic dermatitis and asthma.
